We celebrated Valentines Day on the 18th (President's Day) this year. I love this time of year anyways because I'm a sucker for flowers, but also it is especially meaningful for us. Valentines Day of course lets us celebrate all the mushy love stuff, but February 12th is our half year anniversary and President's Day weekend marks the anniversary of when my roommates and I took Brian and one of his roommates on a weekend snowmobile trip in Island Park. It was so fun, and more importantly it marks the start of all our mushy love stuff. We started dating after that, and the rest they say is history. :)
Brian found and made reservations at a local Italian restaurant called Dazies. It was a little more upscale than we're used to, which made it all the more fun.
We ate by candlelight and the background music started out as 60's/70's love songs that were hilarious. Eventually they shifted to 50's love songs which were much better. The food was delicious and the company even more so. It was nice to take some time out of our regular busy schedules and go on a real date. That doesn't happen very often, but I think it makes the times that we do go out more special.
We shared a cannoli for desert, and it was delicious. Neither of us had ever tried one before, a very rare occurrence because Brian has tasted a lot of different foods!

Fun! And such a more meaningful reason to celebrate.

ReplyDeleteCannoli is delicious! It's fun to make at home too! (It takes a lot of work though, haha)
