Every Saturday afternoon in August, they block off a section of 46th Street right off of Queens Boulevard for mini-concerts. We were out running errands this last Saturday and stopped to enjoy the music for a little while.
The band that was playing was made up of older guys that were really funny. Their music was great and I even recognized a few songs.
This is one of the things that I love about NYC. There are always musicians on the streets, in the subway tunnels or even on the subway trains sharing their talents with the world. We regularly get to listen to a Mariachi band that appears on the 7 train during the weekends. The majority of the street performers are really good, too. This was a real treat and made me smile.
