Christmas Lights

Tonight was the lighting ceremony for the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Even though I've been sick, I braved the cold and met Brian at his office. It was nice to have a date night, because I've been cooped up in the apartment. We splurged and got some pizza at a nearby place. On the way to dinner we had an awesome view of the Empire State Building. 

After eating we walked a ways up Fifth Avenue doing some window shopping. Along the way we found the perfect items to get those on our Christmas lists. If you act fast, you can call dibs on the one you want the most...hahaha!

Nothing says Christmas like a martini-swilling mermaid. Its like the cast of Jersey Shore somehow fell into the Little Mermaid and then they did a holiday special. If you look closely, the merman in the back left has a bit of Baywatch going on. Reluctantly, we tore ourselves away from this dazzling display of fins and flesh and took a subway up to Rockefeller Center.

The area was lit up with Christmas lights and decorations. There were tons of people milling about, as usual with a big city event like this. We got about a half a block from Rockefeller Center before the crowds became ridiculously thick. There was no way we could have gotten any closer. So we wandered around taking pictures of us and the decorations. It was really fun.

Radio City Music Hall was all decked out. The Christmas tree kept changing colors.

We saw these giant Christmas lights last year, but only got a fuzzy picture of them from across the street. This year, we made sure to get a closer look.
