Life is craziness right now. All of these weird things are happening, some good and some bad. The bank where I work got robbed about three weeks ago. They still haven't caught the guy. Everyone is okay but it was just a weird experience.
This last week, my grandma fell down and shattered her right femur just above the knee and broke her left elbow. Friday morning she had a two and a half hour surgery to put in pins and plates. She is still in the hospital, but is doing well. We are all grateful for that. She is probably going to have to go to a nursing home for a while until she gets back on her feet. Last year about this time she broke her hip and had to have surgery and stay in a nursing home, and she hated every minute of it. Hopefully she will be close enough that we can go visit her more often. Last time she was put in the Ashton nursing home and we didn't make it up there very often.
My sister is getting married sometime between May and July. They can't decide on a date, so we are not for sure when yet. Its been fun helping her decide wedding stuff, but will be different to have her married. It was weird when Tyler and Jamie got married too. Now Jamie has a little baby (who is ridiculously cute, and I love him tons!) but it's still weird.
Sometimes it seems that life just goes too fast and changes so dramatically. Brian and I have already been married for three and a half years. I know that it's not that long, but it seems like we just got married. Now he is going to graduate and we are going off to New York and then who knows where. Our siblings are getting married and having babies. Its all exciting stuff, but sometimes I wish we were all little again. Then again, I wouldn't trade Brian for anything in the world. Our families are growing and we have awesome in-laws and a sweet little nephew. If time had frozen when we were little we would have missed out on so much!
It's so interesting to see how life changes and to look back and see who you were and who you are now. It helps me to better understand how important our earth life is, and to keep an eternal perspective. Everything that we go through, no matter how crappy it seems at the time, is for our good. It helps us grow and become better individuals. I've learned that all the bad stuff usually turns out to be better in the end than it would have been if you hadn't experienced it in the first place. So there is my deep thought for the day. Thanks for reading my run on sentences. :)
It never slows down. It never stops (thankfully) and it's always really interesting, even the sad stuff.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your grandma heals well and quickly and can get back home soon.
