Christmas this year was just the two of us in our tiny apartment in New York. No family, no snow, no noise (unless you count the 7 train). It was nice but really quiet. It's hard to have a quiet Christmas when you are used to lots of family around as we both are.
Brian woke up that morning, still sick but his fever had broken. Thank heavens! It was a bad one. He was still feeling crappy most of the day, but at least the fever was gone.
We made hot chocolate and dished up pieces of pie and then sat down to open presents. We each got some great things from each other and the parents. The biggest surprise was two Kindles from Layne and Kris. We couldn't believe it when we opened them! We also got clothes, slippers, candy, and Jamie and Danny sent us games. I gave Brian a nice hat, and he got me a cute purse and matching scarf.
It wasn't how we are used to spending Chrismtas, but it was nice to just be with each other and we are looking forward to next year, wherever we happen to be.
